I didn’t have a smart phone until I was thirty years old. I dated and was married for years without a phone. Today, as someone who has dated for years with a phone, I have strong opinions.
I am starting to believe it’s best if texts are just for notes.
I don’t care if you’re an introvert, a writer who loves to get cozy and text. That’s me, too. I don’t care because numbers don’t lie. The amount of negative feedback I hear about texting situations is a lot.
“She doesn’t return my texts for days.”
“I think he’s on his phone flirting with someone.”
“Then I accidentally sent him a screenshot of his own texts.”
“I want to reach out again but she left me on read.”
“I should have called instead.”
“I’m blocked.”
“I was ghosted twice last month.”
All of this? For what?
We have fucked ourselves over…
