The following is the story of Atlanta-based artist, Marah.
”I was blindsided when I got the calls. There were many, many calls. I was moving in with him that day. It was straight out of a movie”
It was only after Marah had worked in and out of the same music studio for several months that she ran into Paul. Literally.
“I came out of the ladies room and he ran into me carrying a bouquet of flowers. He apologized and said he’d chosen them for a friend who was trying to impress a woman. Paul asked if he’d done a good job with the flowers and there we were, having our meet-cute.”
In hindsight, Marah says, she remembers things that should have struck her as odd.
“There were definitely signs I should have noticed. For instance, even the meet-cute, with the flowers… they were peonies. Anyone who had access to my Instagram could see I love peonies. But, dude, how would I have known he’d planned everything?”
Paul had been quietly stalking everything about Marah online. Where she hung out, worked, lived. Paul knew her favorite things, he liked her favorite things.
“The thing about Paul’s story that set this apart, was the absolute lengths he went to leave his wife and son in Colorado.”
Paul told Marah he was a music producer and taking sessions with vocalists.
“He was handsome, talented, single, very into me. I should have suspected everything but he was new to town and that threw me off. I guess I should have suspected being new to town.”
After several vacations and only a few months into their relationship, Paul suggested Marah move into his place.
