LOS ANGELES: Fire Diary 2025

From January 7 until January 11, I was alone in my evacuated neighborhood with no power and an AM radio. No water. No heat. No Wi-Fi. Just me, dust, warm Red Bull and, Esther, my AM radio.

I am fortunate today to have a home, horrified by this catastrophic event that continues to unfold.

From tonight through Thursday, as the fires have been forecast to intensify, I will be sharing updates. I am now prepared, but I will be back in the dark if tomorrow's newsletter doesn't arrive.
