I think of the mint chocolate chip Big Wheel from 7-11 daily. I haven’t had one since the 80s, but their memory lingers.

Add cherry tomatoes to red sauce instead of sugar or roast the tomatoes in the oven first. Both methods a great job of adding sweetness.

It looks so normal and delicious in the photo!

I made from scratch those weirdly-dark-brown-but-almost-black-regular-boring ones. They sucked. The cookie was crispy. ew. Couldn’t toss them because i spent like 40$ on hagen daaz (y’know, to elevate them from basic) so i put them in the way back of the freezer.

Almost 2 years later when we were moving, I found them. It was the best ice cream sandwich of my life. Cookie was soft AF! Trick is to leave the last three in there for 2 years, to ripen.

It’s Its are the best (I live in SF) and the cappuccino flavor is *chef’s kiss*****

You gotta add a little sugar to the sauce~ it helps with the tomato acidity!! 💛

Sugar + fat is my favorite designer drug. Foods with sugar don't naturally have fat. Humans did that. Type 2 diabetes kills twice as many people per year than drug overdoses. I won't name names but I just made a desert that rhymes with fonfana fudding from the Magnolia recipe and the first spoonful left me disheveled and blissed out on the couch. If I die early, it will be this way, whispering "more" like it's the secret name of God.

I order "those soggy rectangle chocolate wafer vanilla ice cream sandwiches" by a Canadian company who makes a NSA variety, ostensibly for my T2D husband but my son and I eat them too with the excuse that we need to cut back on our sugar intake. Yeah, there's an irony to sucking back artificial sweeteners, emulsifiers, etc. instead. But there's a nostalgia factor involved that's hard to ignore. We're all stress eaters here; now waiting 8 months until DH gets a needed medical procedure. I wonder what we'll replace the ics with when the weather turns cold.

It's It is It! I remember the first time Barbara Blair brought them for us in the 60's. That is one amazing sandwich. Thank you for reminding me how much I love them. :)

Still mourning our loss of the “choco taco” over here.

Honey in the tomato sauce works well. Sometimes I get wild and throw in some vegan cream cheese and Momofuku spicy salt. Being dairy and gluten free a good ice cream sandwich does not exist in my world. Though maybe I'll make one eventually. For the time being, I love those little chocolate covered ice cream bars. Enjoyed this. xx

did you know ice cream sandwiches don't melt? One time I came home from a night of drinking with a pizza slice and an ice cream sandwich and I took a bong rip, got in bed and "plugged" the ice cream sandwich into my phone charger and woke up the next morning to a damp and floppy but still whole ice cream sandwich puddled into my bed. Very gross.

We love a Fat Boy ice cream sandwich over here, despite the name, how dare, I just whisper ‘shut up’ to the box every time I have one. So good you want to hug yourself.

It's It is it. Getting boxes of them on the cheap from a discount grocery store (Grocery Outlet) has been my secret summer thrill.
