Kelly, it sounds like you know a lot of terrible people. Maybe it’s a byproduct of the business you’re in but I suspect most folks aren’t exposed to envy to the toxic degree you write about here.
Honestly, I'd rather be happy for people. I feel like envy is just a waste of energy when you can be apply that same type of momentum toward building something of your own. Others success should motivate. And So many stories (I think The Fly is my favorite example) are about a person driven in a fit of envy to act impulsively and it only ever leads to their own demise.
