Kelly....omg. i posted that same pic with Hedy on my facebook page and you wouldn't believe the amt of hateful, triggered AF comments i got from tiny little baby men.
So many got blocked so it works really well as a friends list cleaner.
shouldn't be surprised as my FB is used for business and i work in the very bro-centric world of direct response marketing but my GOD.
Coming off a week of women, seeing Taylor on Monday followed by Barbie on Friday. I’m bolstered by the signs of progress. But also spent a lot of Monday very aware of Taylor Swift’s talent and authenticity...and realized how deeply I’d believed the chauvinistic tropes about her that I’d read in the media (with help from kim/kanye). Also...if white women are being treated this way, imagine what Black actresses must endure. How do we continue harnessing the power of the female dollar in support of female artists? #pinkskiesahead4ever
I’ve just started watching the series 24 which kicked off in 2001 and it is wild to me how dismissive they are of the female roles. How every female role is meant to drive the male characters forward and how they’re all written to look needy, helpless, slutty or evil. 2001 wasn’t that long ago, but it feels like things like the Bechdel test and the focus on gender in media is only recent. Just so wild.
Yes! I have watched both and my immediate thoughts are that they both marched to their own drummers, did their own thing, listened to what they wanted to do, and were torn down by society, and that includes other women. How sad.
I learned so much about both of them. Hedy was of course a genius. So far ahead of her time. Anna seemed like she had it more together than people presumed. But then society buried her. Just tore her down. It's been a few months since I've watched either but I remember both left me feeling very sad. And if i had known them I would have probably really liked them. Maybe they needed good friends.

❤️
Fuckin hell, $50,000 for a film that grossed $351 million. Did Cameron get paid so little??
My immediate first question was what did they pay Cameron???
She seemed like such a sweetheart. It was a strangely devastating blow when she died.
